Welcome to the dai hard challenge
There are two primary goals of this training event. The first, more practical, purpose is to give a directed physical challenge. After looking at the exercises and demands, you'll see that it's no piece of cake. Secondly, and more of a philosophical slant, I want to push everyone to practice physical training on their own. Dokkoko (the "path of aloneness"), requires discipline and will help to make you a stronger man, woman, husband, wife, employee, employer...it will make you a stronger person!
Here are the details of the challenge:
1.) The Challenge begins RIGHT NOW and lasts until November 4th. That gives us a shade over two months to complete it; which makes it realistic for everyone!
2.) You need ZERO equipment! All exercises are body-weight movements. Download the document below for the complete list of exercises. Each repetition counts as 1 point. There are 10,350 points possible and the challenge is to earn at least 10,150 points. For clarification; for exercises like reverse lunges, completing the movement with the left leg then the right leg counts as 1 rep NOT 2.
3.) Click on the "Exercises" tab to view videos of each of the demands performed safely. If you have any question about any exercise, WATCH THE VIDEO. If it's still unclear, contact me and I will happily clarify for you.
4.) Nothing that you do during your regular in-class training counts! Think of this as a major extra-credit project!
5.) Finally, send me your scores (phoenixgaithersburg@gmail.com) each Saturday evening and I'll update out Leaderboard to keep the motivation up. Remember to send me the following pieces of information:
- Your name
- Your dojo
- Your association (if outside of the Phoenix Karatedo Association, Kyokushinkai)
Train, train, train!
